A one-night only exhibition/party with TOVA MOZARD. Part of the Evening Standard Series at Platform Stockholm in association with the MARKET ART FAIR 2017.

TWO COPS (Hands Up!)

Ext: Park. Los Angeles. Day.

Two police officers come out of the bushes onto an open area. They stop in the middle and start a dialogue about how to approach people, what to say and how to act.

Cop 1. But yeah if we like, if we saw someone, like how would that sound if we said: Can I help you sir? Would you say sir to someone or... Excuse me sir? Then it's really good to have the....

Cop 2. …the glasses on.

Cop 1. I think it's sort of friendly you know, to like: What's going on? Or - what are you guys doing here?

Cop 2. You don't address someone unless there is a reason. If you're suspicious about something... it's like a security guard: I'm sorry there is no skateboarding here or - I'm sorry you're not allowed to park here. And if they're giving you problems then, you know....

Cop 1. You're not allowed to park here, or excuse me the park's closed.

Cop 2. Well, just depends on the situation, what's your objective if it's....

Cop 1. I think you are just trying to keep law and order and uh... but you don't address someone unless it's a problem

Cop 2. Yeah.

Cop 1. So that you know the law, and if someone is breaking it.

Cop 2. But, what would the problem be?

Cop 1. If they're here after hours then you would say: Excuse me sir, the park is closed.

Cop 2. Yeah.

Cop 1. You try to keep a good posture: Hello sir, did you know that the park is closed?

Tova Mozard (b 1978) holds an MFA from Malmö Art Academy and has also studied photography at University of California, Los Angeles. Solo exhibitions include Kulturhuset, Stockholm, Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg, and Botkyrka Konsthall, Stockholm. In addition, Mozard has exhibited at Scandinavian House, New York, Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Norrköpings Konstmuseum, Malmö Konstmuseum, Artipelag ,Stockholm, and Passagen Konsthall, Linköping, Her work is included in several public and private collections, e.g. Moderna Museet in Stockholm. She is represented by Cecilia Hillström Gallery, Stockholm. Present exhbitions include Golden Sunset at Moderna Museet.

EVENING STANDARD SERIES
The Platform Stockholm "Evening Standard Series" promotes the party as a form of social engagement analogous to the exhibition. These events are successful as parties if they are successful as exhibitions, and vice versa. Events in the series interrogate the social; they are focused on what happens between people. The artwork is inseparable from the event, and the event is inseparable from the people attending it.
