Mega Rave

Morr and Jerry is a collaborative ongoing performance work developed by Monica Winther and Kjersti Vetterstad. "Morr and Jerry" reflect two burnt out hyper kitch characters reminiscent of the late 1990s post rave episode. They inhabit a fairly unique performative role as these characters present a form of "mock" art practice. Often performing exhibitions that explore the potential of nevivity through a semi serious comic narrative.

The "MEGA RAVE" became the product of Morr and Jerrys participation in the Evening Standard series. An over accentuated parody of the rave party is what ensued. Using costumery, environmental aesthetics and rave props Morr and Jerry set the stage for a theatrical rave happening along with their rave entourage. As the night ensued what was first a theatrical fantastical version of the rave became a participatory happening where the parody of the rave became slowly engaged in by "the crowd" and becoming a collective celebration of parody through rave.
